Things worth thinking about.

Not answers. Just ideas that have changed the way we live, build and experiment.

Most things at Tanča Gora started with a question.
Do we really need mains water? Does a house have to be built this way? What does self-sufficiency actually mean? How much technology is useful before it starts making life more complicated?
We don’t have universal answers. But over the years, some ideas have changed the way we think about nature, technology, food, work and everyday life.

This is where we explore them.

Self-sufficiency isn’t independence

Producing everything yourself may sound like independence. But real resilience often comes from something else: knowing what you can do yourself, what makes sense to share, and what you can simply do without.

Waste is usually a design problem

Rainwater, heat, food scraps, old materials — many things become “waste” simply because the system has nowhere useful for them to go.

Change the system and waste can become a resource.

We came here partly in search of a different life. Somewhere along the way, we discovered that the interesting part isn’t arriving at the dream life.
It’s building it.

Ideas are more useful when you test them.

Some ideas remain thoughts. Others turn into gardens, buildings, electronics, experiments or complete systems.
That’s where theory gets interesting.
